As a contractor/employee in this class will be responsible for participating in a variety of engineering assignments (STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS, CIVIL ENGINEERS, GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERS) of more than average difficulty, which may include project development, analysis, design, permitting assistance, bid document preparation, construction observation and related activities. Some positions require the contractor/employee to function as a civil, project engineer. Others require the exercise of a high degree of technical knowledge and ability in applying principles of engineering to operations or maintenance functions, or in coordinating efforts to assist in proper development, implementation, and completion of major programs and projects covering the State of Florida.

Considerable knowledge of: principles and practices of the assigned area of engineering; federal, state, and municipal rules, regulations, ordinances, and other pertinent documents; engineering developments and information related to area of assignments.

Ability to: coordinate and review the work of others engaged in a variety of engineering assignments; plan, design and prepare complete engineering plans and specifications for major projects; read and interpret engineering plans and specifications; analyze engineering data and draw sound conclusions; prepare and submit detailed, clear and concise reports, both orally and in writing; train others in the assigned area, as well as to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors and employees, officials and the general public.                                                     -APPLY BELOW-


This is moderately complex office and very specialized clerical work. A contractor/employee in this class is responsible for performing and/or participating in one or more clerical assignments of average difficulty-difficult, which might include receptionist, secretarial, records keeping, and administrative activities. Uses a typewriter and/or a computer as required to prepare correspondence, articles, reports, forms, contracts, affidavits, and other materials from copy, rough draft or general instructions; trains lower-level personnel in the use of computer and related software as well as other office activities, on a limited basis. Work is reviewed through observation while in progress and results obtained upon completion.   -APPLY BELOW-


A contractor/employee in this class performs skilled work of more than average difficulty in all areas of onsite operations, mechanical, instrumentation, co-generation, or buildings and grounds. Under safety supervision, the contractor/employee performs duties and assigned tasks in conformance with established procedures requiring the exercise of reasonable initiative independent judgment for safety purposes -APPLY BELOW-
